How to Pack Fragile Items for Shipping
When it comes to shipping fragile items, proper packing can mean the difference between a successful delivery and costly damage. Whether you’re sending glassware, electronics, ceramics, or artwork, taking the time to pack them correctly is essential. Here’s how to do it right:
1. Choose the Right Box
Start with a sturdy, corrugated cardboard box that’s just slightly larger than the item to reduce movement. Double-boxing is highly recommended for extra protection—place the item in a smaller box first, then place that box inside a larger one with cushioning in between.
2. Use Plenty of Padding
Wrap each item individually in bubble wrap, foam sheets, or packing paper. For especially delicate items, consider using air pillows or molded foam. Make sure there’s at least two inches of padding on all sides, including the top and bottom.
3. Secure the Item

For high-value fragile items, consider purchasing shipping insurance for added peace of mind. Also, opt for tracking and signature confirmation to ensure safe delivery.
